Regular communication with the drivers about performance goals and progress can transform your fleet operations safety and efficiency.
Most organizations have weekly driver meetings in small groups within their team or region. Share ALL of the information with ALL of the drivers. Peer pressure is a motivator and because these drivers tend to be in the same region or city, the poor performers are being compared to their peers facing the same traffic patterns, weather, or other factors as the better performers.
When you praise the positives in a group meeting, others see the appreciation and take note. When you promote the team atmosphere, the top drivers are more willing to share their best practices and ideas with struggling drivers.
