Brake and corner events increased a bit in March. Why the sudden spike?
That’s a great observation. In fact, both events went up considerably for most ELEVATE customers. Only 3 of our customers improved their corner events in March.
When better weather comes along, there are fewer weather-related road dangers, such as ice or snow, that remind drivers to be more careful on curves and exit ramps. This is why you see a spike in corner events.
The same occurs with brake events; the driver’s concern for leaving extra space between themselves and the vehicle ahead of them subsides when roads are clear.
As temperatures increase and weather warms up, it’s a great time to remind your drivers to remain vigilant in their safe driving habits; following other vehicles at an appropriate distance and monitoring appropriate speeds on winding roads and exit ramps are prime examples of vigilance and safe driving habits you should expect (and positively reinforce) from your drivers.
