Brake and Corner Events increased quite a bit in March. Do you have any idea why?
That’s a great observation. In fact, we observed a considerable upturn in these 2 events for most of our customers we track. Only 3 of our customers improved their Corner Events in March.
When the weather becomes more pleasant, there are less weather-related road dangers, such as ice or snow, that remind drivers to be more cautious around curves and on exit ramps. That is why we see an increase in Corner Events.
We have seen the same outcome with Brake Events. The concern of allowing extra space between you and the vehicle in front of you decreases a bit more when the roads are clear.
As the weather warms up, it is a great time to remind your drivers to remain vigilant in their safe driving habits: following too closely and monitoring appropriate speed on winding roads and exit ramps.
