What changes can I expect from my fleet performance now that Fall is approaching?
As we have monitored fleets over the past several years, we've clearly seen seasonal driver behavior changes. With Summer weather cooling down, idle times have decreased, while fuel economy has increased. Fall is the perfect time to drive behavior changes.
Drivers experience less need for heating and air conditioning systems daily. As such, they naturally tend to reduce their idle, although habits are sometimes tough to break. This season is also a great time to focus coaching on idle behaviors. Talk to your drivers about Idle Shutdown Timer triggers and unnecessary PTO hours appearing on their scorecards.
When you motivate your driver to break those habits, it helps you maintain improvements as you move into the colder winter months just around the corner.
