Did you know…Drivers with higher driving events tend to have a lower MPG than the driver with lower driving events.
We measured one of our larger fleets over a couple of years and found the following:
- Over a 2-year period, the results consistently showed a half mile per gallon difference among vehicles that had zero driving events and the vehicles that had four or more driving events in a month.
As you coach your team about driving events, know you are helping them become not only safer, but also more efficient drivers in your fleet. This will result in higher fuel economy and lower fuel costs.
